Gladys Cashner

Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory with a private interment in Beth El Cemetery. Gladys Fern (Stone) Cashner, 105, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Chugwater, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 2, 2009, at Cheyenne Life Care. Mrs. Cashner was born April 5, 1904, in Missouri, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stone. Mrs. Cashner was a homemaker. She loved music and as a young girl, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing opera. Later in life, she and her late husband, Fred Cashner, were actively involved in the Chugwater Baptist Church, where she played the organ and the piano. She and her husband were also the founders of the Chugwater Telephone Company in 1923. She was also active as a member of the Chugwater Octivo Music Club and the Chugwater Garden Club. Mrs. Cashner is survived by her son, Kris Cashner of Chugwater; four grandsons, Greg, Matthew, Keith and Jonathan Cashner; and several great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Fred Cashner; two brothers; four sisters; and two grandchildren, Jeff and Kristine Cashner. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Cashner’s memory may be made to the Chugwater Valley Church.
