Gloria Hope Jenson Federer, 87, passed away June 21st at Davis Hospice Center. Gloria was born April 1, 1926 to John and Bertha (Nelson) Jenson in Westbrook Minnesota. Gloria was the 4th of eight children. She spent her childhood attending country school and working the farm. She said she got the chance to leave the farm when her mother ordered her to travel to Cheyenne to attend her brother in the V.A. Medical Center. At 20 years old she rode the train to Denver. When she departed the train, she decided to go straight to the Brown Palace Hotel. After that she never looked back. She stayed in Cheyenne because she loved the open skies and the climate. She married James Federer and mothered 3 children; Vicki Federer, Dr. Debra Federer M.D., and Gregory Federer. James and Gloria later divorced. Gloria lived the majority of her life in Cheyenne, with brief residences in Colorado, Massachusetts, Hawaii, and Florida. She also spent time throughout Europe with her daughters Vicki and Debra. Gloria is survived by her children and grand daughter, Alexandra Federer Dunn of Fort Worth TX, and by three siblings; Levi Jenson of Sacramento CA, Curtis Jenson of West brook, MN and Marlene Thompson of Vancouver WA. The family would like to thank the employees of C.R.M.C and Davis Hospice Center. The family would also like to thank Gloria's assistant Teresa Coulson. July 6th at noon there will be a funeral celebration at Little America Hotel. The visitation and celebration will include lunch. The funeral celebration will proceed to Mountain View Memorial Park at 3:00 P.M. for interment. All family, friends and acquaintances are cordially invited. Honorary pallbearers are Wally Reiman, Bob Strasheim, Jim Vestal, Kurt Peth, Joe Martellaro and Jock Dalton. Donations may be made to Davis Hospice Center.
