Gloria Gano

Gloria Mae Gano, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in Cheyenne. Gloria was born September 20, 1928, in Imperial, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Maynard and Lillian (Reichert) Swanson. Gloria attended Kenesaw High School in Kenesaw, Nebraska, and later lived in Hermosa, Wyoming, until moving to Cheyenne in 1952. She worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penny's and Montgomery Wards for 19 years until her retirement in 1980 as a department manager. She and her husband, Ralph, travelled back and forth between a home in Yuma, Arizona, and Fort Collins, Colorado. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cheyenne and of the Heart of the Rockies Christian Church in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, making crafts, playing Bingo, Pokeno and poker. Gloria is survived by a son, Richard Gano (Barbara); daughters, Diana Bartlett and Barbara Jensen (Chris); six grandchildren, Tom Chandler (Tina), Angie Seaton (Tim), Brenda Downey (Jeff), Erica Wenner (Clay), Jennifer Jensen and Scott Jensen; and eight great-grandchildren, Miquela Chandler, Joe Chandler, Andy Seaton, Aaron Seaton, Tierney Wenner, Duane Gano-Wenner, Isabelle DeLois and Brandalynn Downey. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ralph E. Gano, Jr., siblings Jennie, Lois, and Clao; and great-grandsons Jeffrey Seaton and Isaiah Downey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church with a memory service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church. Private interment will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
