Gwen Short, born December 9, 1930, died February 8, 2015, leaving behind three children; Johan Adkins (Tom), Shirley Anderson (John), and Charles Short (Joanne Estes-Short); ten grandchildren, Shannon Heidelberg, Ryan Heidelberg, Travis Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Alexa Coupens, Kaylie Pinto, Grayson Short, Holden Short and Addie Rose Short; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Strobehn and Riana Strohbehn. Gwen was a long time Cheyenne resident and an Avon Lady for 45 years and held many honors including President's Club and Rose Circle. She was active in the Moose, VFW, and Eagles. In the past she was a Girl Scout leader and was active with Jobs Daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Short in 1987. She loved the outdoors and life in general. She was an active gardener and fisherwoman for many years. For the last two years, she has a permanent resident of the Life Care Center in Cheyenne. A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow in the Schrader Reception Center. Kind offers of food would be very welcome. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
