Harold M Swanzy, age 94, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died December 14, 2015. This last year he lived in Lakewood, Colorado, at the Atria Applewood Park memory care unit. He was born in Newbern, Alabama, January 13, 1921, to J.H. and Annie Swanzy. He married Helen Zancanella in Colorado Springs, Colorado, March 21, 1945. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1947. He was a World War Two veteran serving in the Army Air Force from 1939-1945. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. He attended Auburn University in Alabama and worked for Wyco Pipeline and American Oil Company for 39 years before retiring in 1981. He was co-owner of Carey Ave and Jet Dry Cleaners. Harold was an avid golfer and a member of the Cheyenne Airport Golf Club since 1947. He was the first Wyoming Open Champion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Zancancella Swanzy, his father, mother and 4 sisters, Doris Bennett, Mary Alice Blunk, Rosalind Abalan and Lillian Gambrell Swindall. He is survived by his son, Jack Swanzy and daughter-in-law, Patricia Swanzy of Lakewood, Colorado, Granddaughter, Meghan Swanzy-Foster (Colt) of Eagle River, Alaska; Grandson, Sean Swanzy (Katie) of Golden, Colorado; Great Grandchildren, Sloane, Malin and Burke Swanzy; Finley and Declan Foster, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Cathedral will be at 10:30 AM., Friday, January 22, 2016. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and online condolences may be made at www.schradercares.com. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org.
