Born on November 25, 1933, in Kingstree, South Carolina, he was a spirited, red-headed Southern boy known for his kind heart and infectious chuckle that could light up any room.
Dr. Crawford pursued his education with dedication and tenacity. He attended Citadel University and was accepted to medical school during his junior year, ultimately graduating from Tulane University with his doctorate. He specialized in obstetrical and gynecological care and was passionate about the care of his patients, always demanding only the very best in his practice. Among his many accomplishments, he made a significant mark as the first doctor to deliver triplets at Warren Air Force Base, a testament to his skill and commitment to his profession.
In addition to his medical career, Dr. Crawford proudly served in both the United States Air Force and the Army, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His time in the military reflected his dedication to service, and he garnered respect for his leadership and commitment.
Harry was not only an esteemed doctor but also a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lura Crawford, and their three sons: Robert Crawford, Ashley Crawford, and Robert T. Nelson. He is also survived by his daughter, Victoria Nelson, and his legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father, Harry C. Crawford Sr., mother, James Leora Crawford, and son, Harry C. Crawford III. He also mourned the loss of his two older sisters and son, James J. Nelson, who all held a special place in his heart.
Beyond his professional and family pursuits, Dr. Crawford had a passion for golf and was a loyal supporter of the University of Wyoming's football and basketball programs. His zest for life, devotion to his family, and unwavering commitment to his patients leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
