Heather J. Hayes, 67, of Cheyenne, a true hippie at heart, passed away on October 23, 2022 in Cheyenne. She was born on April 6, 1955, in Toronto Canada, to William and Amy Bailey.
Heather spent her childhood in Toronto, Canada, Peabody Massachusetts, Hillsborough, New Jersey and Scottsdale, Arizona. As an adult she lived in Spokane Washington, Mesa Arizona, Arizona City, Arizona, Denver Colorado and finally Cheyenne Wyoming. Her dream was to live in Sedona, Arizona where she married Richard. Sedona will be her final resting place.
Heather had a great love of animals, nature and people. She worked in the Veterinary field and the Healthcare field.
Heather was beautiful, funny, adventurous, caring and generous. She was a fierce protector of those she loved and what she believed was right. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Heather is survived by her daughter, Colleen Hayes and husband, Byron Gamble of Cheyenne; grandson, Alec Kayne, her “man”, Don Uncapher of Cheyenne; mother, Amy Bailey; brother, Robert Bailey; sister, Barbara Wheeler; and nephews, Christopher and Ryan Wheeler of Phoenix, Arizona. Also, great nieces and nephew, and many cousins from Canada.
Heather is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hayes and father William Bailey.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home on Saturday November 5, 2022, at 1:00 pm. 2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
