Helen "Tyke" Domenico

Helen Domenico, known by her many friends and family as" Tyke", 80, died peacefully on August 10, 2012, at her home in Cheyenne with her family. Tyke was born May 14, 1932, in Odessa, Missouri, to Olan and Georgia Windsor. She married Louis Domenico on September 26, 1954, and was a lifelong Cheyenne resident until her death. She was proceeded in death by her husband Lou, her parents, and her sisters, Audra Bertz and Bessie McClelland. Tyke and Lou shared 52 years in a loving, memorable and memory-filled marriage where they traveled frequently, built a business, raised an extended family, and made many lifelong friendships in several states. Tyke was blessed with beauty, charm, and charisma so unique and special that she made almost everyone she encountered a friend. You never forgot meeting Tyke and she never forgot meeting you. She struggled heroically in a decade long battle with cancer aided by her friends Don Vold and Judith Wolf at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She loved spending time with her family and countless friends. Tyke enjoyed golf, tennis, and many social clubs in Cheyenne. She was an active member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne and served as president of St. Anthony's Guild. Tyke is survived by her son Todd Domenico, his wife Josie, and two grandchildren, Gaines and Susannah, of Jackson, Wyoming. Also surviving her are her step-children, David Domenico and Martha Geisshuesler; Carol Dill and husband, Larry; Joan Jackson; and Lou Domenico, Jr. and wife, Denise, all from Denver, Colorado; her grandchildren, Nicole Moulton and husband, Jason, and great-grandchildren, Hailey and Zoey; Kristen Lyons and husband, Tom, and great-grandchild, Evan; Cory Shaw and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew; grandchildren, Rachael Erickson, Anna Erickson, Khela Dody and her husband, Bob, and great- grandchildren, David and John; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Sheala Figueroa, Carolyn Crabtree, Ed Bertz, and John McClelland and their families. In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, 710 S. Lions Park Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82001, Meals on Wheels, 2015 South Greeley Highway, Cheyenne, WY 82007, or a charity of their choice in her memory. At Tyke's request, a private family service will be held in the near future. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
