Hershell F. Roberson, 80, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away peacefully on January 5, 2020 in his home surrounded with his closest family by his side whom loved him so much.
Mr. Roberson was born February 3, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He lived there from birth until he was eight years old with his grandparents. The remainder of his childhood was spent with his father and mother in Grand Junction, Colorado. He held numerous track records at Grand Junction High School and was told he was a cheetah on land and a shark in water.
Hershell began driving truck at age 19, working for Layton Brothers in Colorado. He worked many years with several different companies including P.I.E., Consolidated Freightways, and later retiring with ABF. Hershell accumulated over six million driving miles during his career in trucking and in 2013, he was awarded Wyoming Driver of the Year which made him very proud. He made countless great friendships over the years while driving and has friends all over the country.
Hershell enjoyed meeting new people, socializing with strangers, and traveling the country with his big rigs. He had such a special bond with his youngest grandchildren, Braelynn, Ella, Travis, Champ, Chase and Aubree. Spending time with family, BBQ, Blues, old cars, and the Broncos were the most sacred of the things he loved.
