H. Robertson Cleveland, 54, of Cheyenne, WY passed away November 9, 2017 at his home, after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 13, 1962 in Sioux City Iowa, to Adele Harley Cleveland. Rob's family moved to Cheyenne in 1973. Rob attended Cheyenne Central High School and Laramie County Community College, and graduated from St. Anthony Paramedic Program. He began his lifelong passion for Emergency Services with Laramie County Fire District #2, as a Fire Fighter, Captain, Wild Land Engine Boss, Crew Chief and Chief. He was a paramedic supervisor with American Medical Response for several years before taking the position of Laramie County Fire Warden, and two years later he became the director of emergency management for Laramie County and the City of Cheyenne, where he served until his death. Rob, was an advocate for enhancing communication across the state, and left a large footprint across the emergency management field. He deployed multiple times with the Wyoming office of Homeland Security as a team leader for flooding mitigation across the state. He was a wonderful teacher and loved sharing his knowledge of all things emergency management, communications and preparedness. Rob also loved his work, his classic cars, ham Radio, hunting, fishing, jeeping and spending time at his cabin in the Snowy Range, with the love of his life, Sam, riding shotgun by his side. Rob was a loyal friend, teacher and mentor. Rob is survived by his wife, Sam of 27 years; son, Rick Gustad (Jill); grandchildren, Gavin, Clayton, Dawson, and Ainsley; brother, Bryan; numerous cousins and one aunt. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, uncles and aunts. Services will be held at Cheyenne Civic Center on Saturday, November 18th at 2:00 p.m. Service will be officiated by Pastor Josh Scheer and Pastor Marcus Baikie.
