Hugh Kleiman

Hugh F. Kleiman, 66, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at home. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 10, 1945, to Dave and Lucille (Draye) Kleiman. He grew up in South Dakota and worked as a paper boy and shined shoes at the Historic Franklin Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota. He graduated from high school there, joined the United State Army, and after his tour of duty was up, he went to work for the forest service and worked in the gold mines in South Dakota. He married Cheryle Jackson and they moved to Cheyenne in 1968. He went to work for Rainbow Bread and worked for the company for over 40 years, making friends wherever he went. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing. He married Alice (Combs) Kleiman in May 1984. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Kleiman of Cheyenne; three sons, Hugh Kleiman, Jr. and wife, Sharon, Dan Kleiman and wife, Elsie, and David Kleiman and wife, Christy, all of Georgia; two step- children, Jean Cochran and husband, Jim, and Jerry Person, both of Cheyenne; a brother , Duane Kleiman and wife, Etta, of Custer, South Dakota; a sister, Teresa Payne of Seattle , Washington; and six grandchildren, Amy Meridith and husband, James, Elizabeth Cochran, and Casey Person , all of Cheyenne, and Kathryn, Abby, and Emily Kleiman, all of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father and mother. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. His family will be holding a celebration of life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Church of Christ in Cheyenne from 2-4 p.m. Friends who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009.
