A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 5th at 1:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Pastor Roger W. Rapp officiating. An interment service will follow at Beth El Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010, from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Ida C. Barker, 90, of Cheyenne passed away early Monday morning, February 1, 2010, in Cheyenne. Mrs. Barker was born April 14, 1919, in Wheatland. She was a rancher’s wife and mother to five in Chugwater. She married Kenneth on April 23, 1941, in Harrisburg, Nebraska. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, especially enjoying picnics with her family. She also enjoyed doing embroidery, quilting and working in her flower garden. She participated in the preschool foster grandmother program in Cheyenne, and she was an elder care volunteer. She grew up in the Christian Science Church but attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church since moving to Cheyenne. She is survived by her sister, Edna Irving of Lorilia, Iowa; her children, Darlene Milatzo and husband, Carl, of Cheyenne, Edward Barker and Nancy Lynch of Carmel, California; Larry Barker and wife, Eloise, of Littleton, Colorado, Laura Kunkee and husband, Duane, of Florissant, Missouri, and Brenda McCleary and husband, Bill, of Laramie; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Barker is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, and her siblings, John Anderson, Vera Frihauf and Alice King. Pallbearers are Duane Kunkee, Bill McCleary, Aaron Barker and Alan Barker. The family is grateful for the loving care their mother received at Life Care Center of Cheyenne for the past five years, and expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Recreation Program at Life Care Center of Cheyenne, 1330 Prairie Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
