Ida Marie Lovato, 75, peacefully passed away in her Cheyenne home on April 25, 2024. She was born to Onesimo and Celina Martinez on April 12, 1949 in Rock Springs, Wy. Words can never fully capture the beauty of Ida's spirit. She had a beauty that resonated deeply with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Even those who only crossed paths with her once were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Ida had nothing but unconditional love, not only to her family and friends but especially to her children and grandchildren. She embraced the essence of motherhood, setting a standard that all mothers aspire to reach. Her love had no bounds and her heart was always forgiving. Through her words and actions she left us the importance of gratitude for every aspect of life, along with the memory of her that will never be forgotten.
Living with unwavering faith, Ida showed us that trusting in God might not always shield us from suffering but that we can endure anything with him by our side . She had a remarkable ability to find beauty and humor in every situation, teaching us to appreciate life's lighter moments despite its challenges.
Ida was truly a light in this world and her absence will be deeply felt and fondly remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents; Onesimo and Celina Martinez, her husband; Robert O. Lovato, brothers; Johnny, Joe, Delmar, Jesse and Vincent Martinez and sisters; Mary Cisneros and Louisa Apodaca.
She is survived by her children; Robert Lovato, Carrie and Mary Lovato, Jacob and Cassie Lovato and Matthew Lovato, her grandchildren; Marissa and Andrew Gonzales, Desiree Lovato, David Barker, Breanna Lovato, Ariah Lovato, Jacob Lovato, Jaden Lovato, Mary Elizabeth Lovato, Emileah Lovato and Henry Otto Lovato and her great-grandchildren; Nevaeh and Andrew Gonzales and Mariana Selby. Also surviving her are her sisters; Lala Martinez and Jane Apodaca brothers; Steve and Clyde Martinez.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on May 24, 2024 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on May 25, 2024 at 10 a.m. The Rosary and Mass will both be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rawlins, Wy. Following the funeral services, we invite family and friends to join us at 545 15th Street in Rawlins for a luncheon celebrating cherished memories and the life of Ida.
