J. Michael Schuette, 77, of Honolulu, HI passed away peacefully in his sleep during the night of December 29, 2014. Michael was in Cheyenne visiting his family for the holidays. He was born April 19, 1937 in Manitowoc, WI to Elmer and Mary Irene (Hart) Schuette. He attended Marquette University and graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago. He also graduated with distinction from the Northwestern University School of Law. He rose to senior partner at the firm of Lord, Bissell and Brook, practicing there until his retirement. He has resided in Honolulu since his retirement and has served on the board of directors at Finance Factors during his time in Hawaii. Michael is survived by his daughter, Shri (Carlton) Reckling of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Iva, Jessen and Kase Reckling; brother, Hart Schuette of Estero, FL and his 3 children, Bruce, Beth and Mark; former wife of thirty years, Mary Schuette of Glenview, IL and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Those who wish may contribute to the Hawaii Cat Foundation, P.O. Box 10696, Honolulu, HI 96816. A Vigil for the Deceased will be 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Lakeview Chapel in Schrader Funeral Home. A Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Fr. Thomas George celebrating. A private interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
