Jack L. Talkington, 69, of Cheyenne died March 1st at CRMC surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born March 5, 1944, in Cheyenne to Windy and Mina Talkington. He graduated from Carpenter High School in 1963. Jack served in the Army from 1963-1966. He married Linda Spier on September 2, 1967. Jack worked at Coastal Chemical for 31 years and retired in 2001. Jack was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, American Legion, Cheyenne Frontier Days volunteer for 25 years, and he and Linda were foster parents with the Casey Family Program for 18 years. Jack is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda; children, Melissa (Alan) Phelps, Justin (April) Talkington, and Jared Talkington; grandchildren, Natalie Phelps, Lucinda and Nicole Talkington, and Andrew and Catherine Talkington; foster son, Craig Davis and his daughter, Jazmine; siblings, JoAnn Soto, Jim Talkington, Lela Dennis and Connie Snyder. He was preceded in death by his father, Windy Talkington; mother, Mina Ferguson; and step-father, Martin Ferguson. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Faith United Methodist Church. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Carpenter Cemetery. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
