Jacqueline Cushing

Jacqueline Longhurst Cushing, 72, of Cheyenne passed away August 7, 2019 at Davis Hospice Center with her husband by her side. Jackie was born on February 12, 1947 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Leonard and Gwenaver Longhurst. She married William Cushing on August 27, 1966 in the LDS temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jackie had a long career in Nursing - ultimately receiving her Masters in Rural Health Nursing with specialties in nursing management and community health. She worked 45 years in the nursing field, ending in administrative leadership for the State of Wyoming's Public Health Department. Jackie was an active, life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jackie was a smart, dedicated, thoughtful, and loving woman. She was very present in her family's lives as well - never missing baptisms, graduations, or weddings; and attending as many sporting events, recitals, and performances as possible. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games - particularly card games and traveling. Going on cruises with her husband, sisters, children and parents was a favorite. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Bill Cushing; five children, Darren Cushing, Kristen French, Shawn Cushing, Bryce Cushing, and Pamela Wandry; her three sisters, Linda Wickham, Sheila Norman and Susan King; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Gwenaver Longhurst. Visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and Saturday, August 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 309 Western Hills Blvd. A funeral service will be held following the viewing on Saturday, Aug. 10th at 11:00 am at the same location. Jackie will be laid to rest in the Portage Cemetery in Portage, Utah next to her beloved parents.
