James Evans

James G. "Jim" Evans, 69, of Cheyenne died June 23, 2015 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1945 in North Platte, NE to Charles and June Evans. He served in the US Army, 101st Airborne during the Vietnam conflict, in which he also was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Following his service career, he was a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and retired from Veterans Administration. He married Michele Jones on July 15, 1981 in Cheyenne and was a member of the Eagles Lodge, American Legion Post #6, VFW #4343, Purple Heart Club, Disabled Veterans of America and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife, Michele Evans; stepson, Jason Schonhoff of Las Vegas, NV and his mother, June Evans of Mullen, NE. He was preceded by his father, Charles Evans. A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
