James F Herrin of Cheyenne passed away March 10 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Mr. Herrin was born February 23, 1938 in Pearl Harbor to William and Gertrude Thompson. He was a graduate of Cheyenne High and served two years in the Navy on the USS Saint Paul. He was a firefighter for the City of Cheyenne for 23 years and a Fire Inspector for 6 years. He owned and operated Aero Dyna Clean for 28 years and the New Jet Cleaners for 10 years. He married Pat Heatherington in 1976 and they were married 25 years. Mr. Herrin enjoyed wood working, puzzles, gun collecting, stamp collecting, leather craft, fishing and camping. He is survived by his son, Bill Herrin of Surprise AZ; stepsons Scott Heatherington of Cheyenne and Jay Heatherington of Oregon; half sister, Maureen Flemming of Oregon; grandchildren, Rachel, Joseph, Alicia, Amy, Brandon, Ryan, Jenna and Cassidy; several great-grandchildren; niece, Pam Freeman of Cheyenne and his beloved babies, Meisha, Scotti and Patti. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; parents, brother William; sister Alice and brother-in-law Hubert Norfleet and half brothers, Danny and Tommy Thompson. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader Funeral Home. Donations may be made in his honor to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
