James "Woody" Woodward, 68, of Cheyenne passed away January 18, 2015 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center of quick onset complications of COPD and heart failure. He was born March 22, 1946 in Streator Illinois. He moved to Glendale, CA in 1950, then to Burbank in 1952, where he attended school through college. He was a Vietnam Veteran and serviced from 1968-1971. In 1976 he moved to Las Vegas, NV and worked as an accountant until joining the US Postal Service in 1982 as a letter carrier. He retired in 2005. He married his wife, Monica in 1992, also a letter carrier, and transferred to Cheyenne in 1998 , where he retired. He was a Meals on Wheels volunteer until his bad health took over, and he had to stop his golfing and fishing which he loved. He is survived by his wife, Monica of Cheyenne; mother, Dorothea Woodward; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Don Moore all of Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Woodward. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Comea Shelter, Coalition for the Homeless or Meals on Wheels. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 -7:00 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home. Memory Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery.
