James "Kevin" Neumeyer, 47, of Cheyenne formerly of Jackson, Wyoming, passed away on January 23, 2017 in Cheyenne. Kevin was born July 10, 1969 in Jackson to George James and Barbara Jean (Ballew) Neumeyer. Kevin lived his first 6 years in Jackson, then his early school years with his mother in Shelly Idaho, always coming home to Jackson for summers and any time school was out to stay at Grandma and Grandpa Ballew's place with his older siblings, Danny and Connie Coons. When he was 16 he moved back to Jackson to live with his sister and worked at High Country Linnen for several years. Later he worked as a sanitation truck driver for Gene and Jeanie Shinkle until moving to Louisiana for a few years. He then moved to Cheyenne and became a garage door tech for Automatic Garage Doors. Kevin loved people. He was a natural talker and he could talk to anybody, liking most people he met. He was outgoing and friendly and easy to make laugh. He loved a good joke, both telling and listening to them. A good prank was also in the cards every once in a while too. Kevin loved dogs and he owned several. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman and a fan of stock car racing, and anything outdoors. He could drive anything big or small, and do it with style. He was a hard worker and it was hard to keep up with him. Kevin was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a special kind of guy. He shared anything he had and was very generous to everyone. He will be missed terribly. He is survived by his sister, Connie Coons Hurley of Enoch, UT; nephews, Michael and Robert Hurley and their aunt, Beverly Ballew Pratt of Denve, CO; cousins, Janet Pratt of Denver and Dale(Valerie) Pratt of Provo, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Coons; and by his beloved grandparents, Howard and Bea Ballew. Those who wish may contribute to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Dr., Cheyenne, WY 82007. Graveside services will be held in Jackson at a later date. He will be buried next to his older brother, Danny, at the Aspen Hill Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and online condolences may be offered at www.schradercares.com.
