Jane C. Lundell, age 86, of Cheyenne passed away peacefully at David Hospice Center on June 2, 2024. Jane was born September 29, 1937 to Byron and Helene (Shoup) Cochran in Sutherland, Nebraska. She attended elementary and high school in Sutherland, graduating in 1955, and furthered her education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 1959 with a degree in teaching. At the University, she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Jane had a passion for teaching elementary students and taught in Arizona, Nebraska, and Wyoming. She had many treasured memories of her students, as they were very special to her. She shared a lot of fun stories with her family about her time in the classroom.
Jane met and married Bryce Lundell in 1972 and they resided in Cheyenne all their married life.
She enjoyed her cats and could tell you stories about each one she owned, as well as their personalities, diets, dispositions and habits. Besides her special pets, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, knitting, needlepoint and cross stitch. She also loved to cook and read a good book.
She was a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, Oak Leaf Chapter #6 and enjoyed visiting and having lunch with her teacher friends from Dildine School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, George Cochran and sisters, Beldora Haythorn and Sue Ann Haythorn; niece Mary Helen Haythorn, brother-in-law Waldo Haythorn, and sister-in-law Emma Cochran.
Jane is survived by her brother-in-law Howard Haythorn, 5 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, 13 great great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and good friends.
Jane chose cremation and a graveside service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne, WY.
Memorials in Jane’s memory may be sent to Broadmoor East Vet Clinic, ATTN Angel Fund, 4218 East Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001 or the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Davis Hospice Center for their compassionate care. May Jane’s memory continue to shine brightly like a beacon of love and warmth in the hearts of all who knew her.
