Jerry Hoover

April 16, 1972 — April 19, 2019

Jerry L. Hoover, 47, of Cheyenne, Wyoming passed away tragically on April 19, 2019 near Cheyenne. Jerry was born April 16, 1972 in Cheyenne, a son of Danny L. Hoover and Susan Hoover. When Jerry was a toddler, he became infatuated with big rigs, often pointing them out and shouting "Mommy, seeee guck!" His childhood interest paved the road to his hard work and dedication as a truck driver. He enjoyed his travels, and often shared his love of this beautiful country, especially Oregon which he believed was "for lovers." Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and baseball, but what he was most passionate about was his Harley. Jerry made many friends through his love of riding and there is peace in knowing that he left this world doing what he loved with whom he loved. He was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous 300 Club and having been in recovery for 11 years, he was very proud of his sobriety. He is survived by his daughters, Tori Lynn Hoover of Ft. Collins, CO and Samantha Ray Snyder of Sheridan, WY; mother, Susan Hoover (Richard Navarro) of Cheyenne; siblings, Michelle Hoover of Cheyenne and Jason Levi Hoover of Casper; nieces and nephews, Jade Ditzel, Colton Hoover, Charish Hoover, Trista Hoover, Trenton Jay Hoover and Sully Hoover; step-sisters, Tracy Navarro and Amy Navarro (Chris Dawes) and their families; aunt and uncle, Steven and Jackie Hoover of Broomfield, CO; uncle, Richard Hoover of Aurora, CO; and godmother, Cheryl Rhodes of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Hoover; grandparents, Robert and Mirelle Conkling, Donna Stratton and Herschel Hoover; aunt, Judy Conkling; and uncle, Robert Conkling, Jr. His significant other, Jana Garton, passed away with Jerry. Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Jerry's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference."
