Jesse James Gilbert, 32, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was called to his eternal rest on February 27, 2024. Born on February 20, 1992, in Eugene, Oregon at the Sacred Heart Hospital. Jesse had a profound sense of humor and could be counted on to find humor in almost anything. Life gave him a lot of material to work with, he once said. He was also a person who would try to comfort whoever he saw was feeling down. He had a quick wit and beautiful smile that lit up the room when happy. He had a love of reading, computers, good music, and researching a wide range of topics to study.
He is survived by his loving parents Angela, and Jamie Gilbert; his sister, Katie Saint John, and her husband, Will; his grandparents, Joseph, and Nila McCann; and his great-grandmother Anne Kinzer, also of Cheyenne. His uncles, Steve McCann and Aunt Paula McCann of Helena, Montana, and Patrick McCann and Theresa Jewett McCann of Cheyenne, Wyoming, along with his six cousins, Jaelyn, Kiara, Dylan, Tylan, Sophia, and Rylan McCann, mourn his passing.
Jesse's formative years were spent at Alameda Elementary and Grant High School, where he laid the foundations of a lifelong learner. He furthered his education at Multnomah Community College in Portland Oregon.
A traditional service to honor Jesse's life will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Cheyenne, on 3/4/2024 at 2pm. The family extends an invitation to all who knew and loved Jesse to join in commemorating his gentle spirit and the quiet impact he had on those around him.
May Jesse's soul be at peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who cherished him.
