Jesse Loyd

Jesse Ernest Loyd passed away at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming on February 11, 2014. Ernie was born on April 30, 1923 to Jesse and Selma (Patterson) Loyd near Parker, Colorado. He graduated from Parker High School in 1941 and after service in the Marines, returned home to continue his career in farming and marry his beloved wife of 68 years, Evelyn Flierl. A native of Parker, Colorado Ernie moved to the Hereford, Colorado area in 1972 to expand the farming operation with his sons and daughter. Ernie loved the farm life, his dairy cows, growing crops and building and fixing everything. He served on the Parker School board and was a member of the High West Energy board from 1979 to 2004. He will be sadly missed by his family. Ernie is survived by his wife Evelyn and five children: Jim (Lonna), Dan (Donna), Pat (Cindy), Mike (Helen) and Polly Derksen (Jon) all of Hereford, CO. Ernie has 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Margaret Nelson of Parker, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Francis Loyd. Private family services will be held. Interment will be in Grover Cemetery, Grover, CO.
