Mr. Jim Chocas, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his home. Jim was born January 12, 1930, in Cheyenne, a son of the late George and Helen (Marandos) Chocas. Jim was a veteran of the Korean War and had careers with the Cheyenne Fire Department and the State of Wyoming, both of which he retired from. He was also involved in several business ventures in the Cheyenne area throughout his life. Jim was proud of his 20 years of service as a firefighter, and he rose through the ranks and was recognized for his achievements on behalf of the fire department and his fellow firemen. Jim is survived by his three children, Greg Chocas, Connie Chocas, and Chris Chocas and wife, Patrice; a brother, Gus Chocas; numerous nieces and nephews; and several good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 60 years, Germaine (Haubert) Chocas, with whom he enjoyed spending the winter months at their home in Sun City, Arizona, for the last 15 years; five brothers, George, Tom, John, Bill and Alex; and three sisters, Jennie, Argie and Doris. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with a reception to immediately follow at the Schrader Reception Facility.
