Jim McIntosh
1944-2019
Tonight, in a darkened room in a hospital bed he lies small, but this is not who he is.
He is a man of strength. Four months ago, he kayaked mountain lakes. Ten months he battled cancer.
He is a working man. Until the day before surgery his career spanned forty-three years. He managed millions of dollars but never managed a person. He considered those he worked beside to be family.
He is a father and a friend. The families he was born into, married into and the two families he raised to adulthood were home to his truest friends.
He is a patriot. As his fathers before him, his brothers beside him and sons that followed him, he stood for his country.
He is a gentleman. He practiced kindness, was a protector of modesty and honored above all else the roles of wife and motherhood.
He is a son of God; convert to covenant-keeper. Holding fast to the good, gave him the ability to endure to the end.
In work and in life he followed The Plan. Well-earned 26, my sweetest friend.
