Joanne Struebing

Joanne Marie Struebing, 55, passed away on March 29, 2018 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Joanne was born on September 5, 1962 in Montevideo, Minnesota to Norman and Mary Viken. Joanne worked for the Wyoming Parole Board as an Executive Secretary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to fish, hunt, knit, crochet and was an avid bird watcher. Joanne fought a valiant thirteen year battle with lupus. She was also a longtime member of the Baxter Lutheran Church in Baxter, Minnesota. Joanne is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dave; children, Hunter Struebing of Cheyenne, Mandy Struebing of Sprague, NE, Crystal Alvarez of Crete, NE, and Shay Diehl of Fort Collins, CO; parents, Norman and Mary Viken of Boyd, MN; her brother, Gary Viken of Lancaster, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Society at www.lupus.org A memory service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 in Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Roger Rapp officiating. Interment will follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
