Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Schrader Chapel with the Reverend Bob Garrard officiating. Cremation has taken place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. John M. Cruz of Cheyenne died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Davis Hospice Center, after a brave battle against brain cancer, being diagnosed in February 2009. He was born May 13, 1957 in Rawlins to Mary and Lawrence Cruz. He graduated from Rawlins High School in1976. He worked most of his life in the construction and heavy equipment field. For the past 20 years he has worked for Sinclair Oil, spending the last 10 years as a area operator in Cheyenne. He is also co-owner of Rosie O’s Coffee Shop at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Tammy O’Grady Cruz whom he married September 2, 2005; daughter Brittany Fawn Cruz of Denver; step sons, Tucker Wirfel of Denver, and Tanner Wirfel of Cheyenne; mother, Mary Avila of Denver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom Cruz of Rawlins, Jim and Trish Cruz of Rawlins, Andy Cruz of Rawlins, Steve and Tracy Cruz of Denver, Willie and Terra Avila of Denver; sister and brother in law, Blanca and Alex Armenta of Denver; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew and cousins, as well as the entire O’Grady family of Cheyenne.
