John Freeburg

John R. Freeburg, 78, of Cheyenne died March 19, 2012 in Cheyenne. He was born June 29, 1933 in Encampment, WY to LeRoy and Helen Freeburg. He married Sandra St. John on August 6, 1965 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather "Kuku". He was a engineer on the Union Pacific Railroad and also a Trainmaster for the Rock Island Railroad in Chicago. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge # 0660 (for 47 years), the Union Pacific Oldtimers, a local chairman for 12 years of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman and he belong to the social card club at the Airport Golf Club. He loved dogs especially his German Shepherds. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Freeburg of Cheyenne; daughter and son in law, Lisa and Aaron Klehr of Parker, CO; 2 grandsons, Jordan John Klehr and Christian Jace Klehr. He was preceded in death by a son, John Truman. Freeburg; parents, LeRoy and Helen Freeburg. Those who wish may contribute to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Dr., Cheyenne, WY 82007, American Cancer Society, 1020 9th Ave., 152 N. Durbin St., Casper, WY 82601 or the Charity of their choice. A memorial service will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday in the Schrader Chapel. Interment of his urn will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.schraderfuneral.com.
