John Hanlon

Born: June 23, 1920 Died: November 08, 2010 Services: Vigil for the Deceased will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Schrader Chapel. Funeral Liturgy will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. Visitation: John N. Hanlon of Cheyenne passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. He was 90 years old. John Nicholas Hanlon was born on June 23, 1920 in Washington D.C., the son of James Paul and Rose (Koch) Hanlon. He was a sheet metal worker for the Union Pacific Railroad for 50 years until his retirement. On August 26, 1943, John married the love of his life, Elizabeth Anne Scott. They later had two daughters, Patricia and Joan. John was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and also belonged to the National Rifle Association. He had a particular love for nature, open spaces, mountains and the forests. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. John N. Hanlon is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Kricken of Cheyenne, WY and Joan Hanlon of Laramie, Wyoming. He was also survived by a sister, Joan Wettlaufer and a brother, Hubert Hanlon as well as 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rose Hanlon and his wife, Elizabeth Hanlon; 3 brothers, James, Leo and Paul and 1 sister, Rosemary Gardner.
