Mr. John William Larson, 58, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 22, 2014. Mr. Larson was born December 13, 1955, in Cheyenne, a son of Dr. Leonard and Mary Jane (Groshart) Larson. John served honorably in the United States Navy and also worked as a multimedia manager for Laramie County School District #1. He pursued numerous hobbies with gusto including golfing, photography, chess and radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. John found his true calling after he retired from the school district. He became a wonderful chef and loved to share his new passion with his family. He will be remembered for his humbleness, his sense of humor, and as a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. John is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cyndi of Cheyenne; his mother, Mary Jane Larson of Cheyenne; his sister, Sherry Lovato and husband, George, of Cheyenne; nephew, Dr. Matt Lovato; niece, Jill Lovato and husband, Renny MacKay; great-nephew, Case MacKay; and great-niece, Clara MacKay. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Leonard Larson. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Diana Hartman officiating. A private family interment will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
