John Larson

Mr. John William Larson, 58, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 22, 2014. Mr. Larson was born December 13, 1955, in Cheyenne, a son of Dr. Leonard and Mary Jane (Groshart) Larson. John served honorably in the United States Navy and also worked as a multimedia manager for Laramie County School District #1. He pursued numerous hobbies with gusto including golfing, photography, chess and radio controlled airplanes and helicopters. John found his true calling after he retired from the school district. He became a wonderful chef and loved to share his new passion with his family. He will be remembered for his humbleness, his sense of humor, and as a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. John is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cyndi of Cheyenne; his mother, Mary Jane Larson of Cheyenne; his sister, Sherry Lovato and husband, George, of Cheyenne; nephew, Dr. Matt Lovato; niece, Jill Lovato and husband, Renny MacKay; great-nephew, Case MacKay; and great-niece, Clara MacKay. He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. Leonard Larson. A memory service will be celebrated on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Diana Hartman officiating. A private family interment will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in John's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, 800 Southwest Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82007.
