John E. Lippold, 84, of Cheyenne, died Thursday, November 29 at his home. John was born in Laramie, WY on Feb. 17, 1928, the son of Orville and Janice (Clump) Lippold. John served in the U.S. Army during Occupation of Japan in World War II. On Oct. 3, 1953 he married Louise Boam in Hanna, WY. At the time of his marriage, he was employed with the Union Pacific Railroad first as a brakeman and then later as a conductor. He is survived by his wife Louise of Cheyenne, one daughter Lisa R. Simmons of Denver and one son Arthur J. Lippold of Reno, NV. Also surviving is one sister Laurine Bath of Laramie, WY; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Helen Reilly and Eva Kiedrowski. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Frontier United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Earnshaw officiating. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home. Donations to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
