Mr. John McGarry, 53, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, went home to the Lord on November 3, 2012. John was born on July 7, 1959, in San Diego, California, to Barbara and John DeWitt. He lived in Phoenix, Arizona, until 1970 when they moved to North Pole, Alaska. While living there he was adopted by Gary McGarry. In 1986, he met Peggy Mason, his future wife. They returned to Phoenix where his two sons, JC and Bobby, were born. They were the love and light of his life. In 1998, the family moved to Cheyenne. John was a member of Meadowbrooke Church, and was involved in Christian ministry with the elderly. He and his young sons visited nursing home residents and shut-ins, and conducted weekly Bible studies. He and his boys were involved in motocross racing at the Cheyenne Cycle Club for several years. He was also a member of the "Seed of Abraham", a Christian motorcycle club. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, his sons, John (JC), and Bobby; sisters, Pam DeWitt, Brenda Manley, and Bobbie Rae Burris; a brother, Clayton DeWitt; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Meadowbrooke Church, 3161 Omaha Road in Cheyenne. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
