Jack Skinner, 84, passed away on February 23, 2024 at home in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was born in 1939 in Washington, D.C. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy. He is survived by his brother, Walter, his daughter, Ann, his two sons, John and Joe, and his three grandchildren, John, Zakary, and Scott.
Jack was a veteran having served 8 years in the air force. He was in a special activities unit in which he became a computer expert. He was stationed in Korea for 18 months and eventually ended up at the Pentagon working with Defense Intelligence. He then was hired by IBM and worked on many projects including the software for the original personal computer (PC) and the international e-mail address that is used today.
My dad told me many stories of his life growing up in Washington, D.C., his summers on his grandparents' farm in Manassas, Virginia, his time in Korea, and his business travels around the world. He passed his love of traveling to me. My son, Zakary, and I were lucky to be able to cruise with my parents to many different places. After my mom passed away, Dad and I were able to cruise and make memories I will always cherish. He will be missed by all that knew him.
