Mr. Joseph V. Pugliese, 66, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at the Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Pugliese was born August 19, 1946, in Herkimer, New York, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Lolio) Pugliese. Joseph earned a Master's degree from the University of Arizona in social work and also volunteered in Africa for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. He worked as a social worker for the Indian Children's Program in New Mexico and also served as a teacher on the Zuni Indian Reservation. His career in social work also led to his employment at the Veterans Administration in Albequerque, NM, North Hampton, MA, and in Cheyenne in 1994. He retired from the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne in 2011. His many interests included reading, watching sports, exercising at the YMCA, joining his friends for breakfast, serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus, and caring for his dog, Buster. Joseph is survived by his two daughters, Gina Pugliese of Cambridge, MA, and Rosanna Pugliese of Denver, CO; his former wife, Marie Pugliese; a brother John Pugliese of New York; and a cousin, Jeannette Axellson of Cape May, NJ. There will be no visitation. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 16th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with interment to follow in Olivet Cemetery.
