Joseph "Joe" Aragon

Joseph G. Aragon, 82, of Cheyenne passed away August 15, 2014, at home surrounded by his family. Joe was born July 9, 1932, in Anton Chico, NM. As an infant, he was adopted by Emerenciano and Lucia Aragon. He married Antonia Ulibarri on June 20, 1959, in Anton Chico, NM. He was a mechanic and also owned and operated several retail stores and service stations. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Antonia "Toni" Aragon of Cheyenne; children, Anita (Mike) Rakestraw of Arvada, CO, Alex (Sarah) Aragon of Cheyenne, Alice (Jose) Santos of Edmonton, Canada, Angela Aragon,(Louie Naranjo) of Cheyenne, and Amanda (Daniel) Trujillo of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Alex (Angela) Rakestraw, Jeffery Lyn Joseph Aragon, JD Santos, Elena Santos, Amber Trujillo, Diego Smith, Rio Smith, Aspyn Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Kira, Jazlyn and Zoey Rakestraw; sister, Elvira Denzer of Albuquerque, NM; and brother, Alberto Lucero Las Vegas, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nevada Smith; siblings, Eduardo Lucero, Bonifacio Lucero, Carlos Lucero, Tomas Lucero, Celso Lucero, Ernesto Lucero and Corrine Aguilar. A Vigil for the Deceased will be Friday 6:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home followed by a reception in the Schrader Reception Center. A Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 am. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
