Joseph Lee "Joe" Noyer lived on and ran his family's farm in Carpenter, Wyoming, for most of his life until his death on Thursday, February 20, 2014. Joe was born on July 31, 1940, in Kimball, Nebraska, a son of the late Lebertus and Esther (Pollock) Noyer. He graduated from Carpenter High School in 1958 and worked on the family farm except for a ten year period where he repaired light aircraft in Greeley, Colorado. He returned to Carpenter to help care for his parents and was self-employed as a master carpenter/woodworker. He married the love of his life, Jeanette Vey, of Grover, Colorado, on July 5, 1961, in Pine Bluffs. They had one daughter, Brenda Jo. He also helped raise his nephew, Donald McLeod, and, for the past year and a half, he played a large role in the lives of his great-grandchildren, Riley Ann and Taber Joseph. Joe is survived by his daughter, Brenda Milliken and husband Bob, of Greeley, CO; a granddaughter, Beth Williams and husband Chris; his nephew, Donald McLeod and partner, David of Severance, CO; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Ann Williams of Greeley, CO, and Taber Joseph McLeod of Severance, CO. He also maintained strong relationships with his two sisters, Loretta Jewell and husband, Glenn, of Carpenter, and Mary Esther Andrade of Greeley, CO. A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Carpenter Fire Station Community Room. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Joseph Lee Noyer Memorial Fund , c/o Brenda Millikin, 2532 West 20th Street Road, Greeley, CO 80634. The memorial fund has been established for the benefit of his grandchildren.
