It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joshua David Soper. Fondly known as Joshy or Papa Josh, who peacefully passed away on August 4th, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming and was born on February 3rd 1982 in Estherville, Iowa.
Josh had a zest for life and loved socializing with everyone he met. With a heart of gold and a selfless nature, Josh impacted the life of many and leaves a lasting impression on all who knew him. His infectious laughter and warm smile lit up any room. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. Josh was a proud father and adored his three grandsons.
Josh indulged in various hobbies, including sports, reading, and cooking. He had a deep appreciation for music and found solace in the sounds of Tool, POD, Shinedown, Eminem, and much more. He excelled at football and playing the trumpet. Josh’s passion for creating in the kitchen was unparalleled, as he dazzled all with his culinary skills. He loved eating corn casserole and relished in the combination of BBQ sauce with ranch. His passion for food was matched only by his love for an ice-cold beer. Whether he was cracking jokes or cooking up a storm, Joshua's dedication and talent shone through in everything he did.
In our loving remembrance of Josh we recall a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, papa and friend. Joshua's family and friends meant the world to him, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will remember him by his legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Joshua is survived by his daughter, Madelynn Alford, his grandsons, Elijah, Oliver, Isaiah. He is also survived by his parents Mike and Ann Jacobs, grandparents Beverly Farlin and Barbara Soper, his siblings Amanda (Spencer), Jake and Jenni (Grant, Alexa), Kyle and Jessica (Jasper), Kayte and Jeff (Kane, Silas, Lucille), Tim and Liz (Atticus). In this time of grief, may the family find solace in the cherished memories they shared with Joshua.
Joshua was preceded in death by his father, David Soper, and his grandparents Leslie Farlin, Ron and Sharon Jacobs, and Harry Soper.
As we bid farewell to Joshua David Soper, let us remember him for his kind heart, talents, and the infectious love he shared with the all the people in his life. May his legacy live on in the tales told and recipes shared, memories made, and keeping his spirit alive for generations to come. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
There will be a memorial service held at Schrader, Aragon & Jacoby funeral home on Tuesday August 13th, 2024 at 2 pm. Following the service there will be a celebration of life for Josh in the basement of Sandford’s Grub & Pub at 4 pm.
