Mrs. Joy Elaine (Spoth) Young, 67, of Kimball, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 15, 2011, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mrs. Young was born December 27, 1943, in Greenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Vincent and Florence (Whitcomb) Spoth. Joy married Samuel A. Young on May 9, 1967, in Murrayville, B.C., Canada. Joy was a member of the American Minature Horse Association and several other equine associations. She was also the top equine appraiser in the nation, and served as a member of the Mt. Sinai Synagogue in Cheyenne. Joy is survived by her loving husband, Sam Young of Kimball; her son, Dan Young of Cheyenne; and eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents and a son, Leonard E. Wig. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Rabbi Harley I. Karz-Wagman officiating. An interment service will follow at the Cheyenne Jewish Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Young’s memory may be made to the Mt.
