June Lillian Trowbridge, 83, of Cheyenne died February 26 at the Davis Hospice Center. She was born January 7, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Edward and Pearl Tassie. Mrs. Trowbridge was a homemaker, wife and mother. After her children entered high school, she worked for several years in the cafeteria of Carey Junior High School. June married Kenneth Harlan Trowbridge on September 11, 1946. They lived in South Dakota until 1963 when they moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. They moved with their six children to Cheyenne in 1965. When Kenneth retired as Property Disposal Officer for Frances E. Warren Air Force Base in 1977, he and June moved to Carpenter, where they lived for 28 years. They moved back to Cheyenne 5 years ago. June loved her husband and children. She enjoyed spending time with her sons and daughters as they grew up, sharing their many and diverse interests, She loved watching them play baseball, softball, basketball and other sports, often traveling with her husband many hundreds of miles to attend games, June loved to cook and bake, celebrate holidays with all sorts of home-made goodies and recognize birthdays with cake and ice cream. She loved her dogs and cats. June also spent much time side by side with her husband at auctions, cleaning and polishing the treasures they found and the long, painstaking task of restoring their prized covered wagons. June is survived by her sons, Kenneth Trowbridge, Gerald Trowbridge and wife Marlene, Ronald Trowbridge and wife Robin, all of Cheyenne; Curt Trowbridge and wife Teresa, of Boone, Iowa; and daughters, Linda Ross and husband Gary, of Buhl, Minnesota, and Shirley Glinsek and husband Pat, of Ely, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Schrader Chapel with the Reverend David Stratton officiating. The family has requested that there be no flowers, please.
