Karen was born to Marion and Ethel (Rominske) Collins in Detroit, Michigan on June 22, 1946. Karen worked as a legal secretary in Colorado and then later with the Meds by Mail program affiliated with the Cheyenne VA Medical Center.
Karen enjoyed a variety of activities over the years including attending every activity of her grandchildren ranging from choir to soccer, traveling to the Black Hills to watch the buffalo, and knitting numerous blankets and sweaters for friends and family. Karen was admired and will be missed for her love, dedication and attention to her close family, her perfect pie crust, and her strength exhibited during her and Chris’s battles with cancer.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Laura (Mike) Sutton and Beth (Matt) Hoobler, all of Cheyenne; and six grandchildren, Sarah, Caleb, Cameron, and Ava Sutton and Jenna and Shelby Hoobler.
She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Gary; siblings, Diane Norris and John Collins; and her husband, affectionately known as Chris.
