Kathryn Larsen

Mrs. Kathryn Larsen, 82, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, quietly passed away Wednesday, August 5 2014, at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Larsen was born March 11, 1932 in Albany Georgia, a daughter of the late Mitchel Lester Butler and Anna May Butler of Bainbridge, Georgia. Kathryn married Norman Larsen in 1957 and moved to Cheyenne in 1964. Kathryn was a teacher at Dildine Elementary for 26 years, retiring in 1996. She took great pleasure in spending time in Estes Park, Colorado with her family. Her many interests included Cheyenne Symphony, gardening, cake decorating, reading, genealogy research and travel. She was active in the First United Methodist Church throughout her life in Cheyenne. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, remarkable teacher and dear friend, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Ryan, and her beloved husband Lieutenant Colonel Norman W. Larsen, USAF, Retired. Kathryn is survived by her daughter Linda Larsen and son-in-law Dennis Book of Loveland, Colorado; her son Dave Larsen and daughter-in-law Laura Dotseth of Falcon Heights, Minnesota; her six grandchildren, Christopher Crocco of Denver, CO, Whitney Armistead and husband Christopher Armistead of Edwards, CO, William Larsen and Bailey Larsen of Minneapolis, MN, Emily Streeper of Minneapolis, MN, and Anna Streeper of Roseville, MN; and three great grandchildren Alivia, Calvin, and Beau. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 9th, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home. Reverend Mark Marston will officiate. An interment service will be held in Beth El Cemetery.
