Mr. Kenneth D. Andrews, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mr. Andrews was born September 14, 1932, in Casper, Wyoming, a son of the late Harry and Agnes Andrews. Kenneth was raised in the Big Horn area and moved with his family to Cheyenne while in elementary school. Following graduation from the University of Wyoming, he was employed as a student teacher in Otis, Colorado, and later taught agriculture in Mitchell, Nebraska, as was a member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity. He served honorably in the United States Army and also served as a Major in military intelligence for the National Guard. He also owned and operated an employment service until his retirement. Kenneth was very active as a volunteer for the National Resource Conservation Service, FEMA and Homeland Security. He also volunteered at the Historical South Side Improvement Association. He was a member and Past Master of Capital Lodge #54 A.F. & A.M., the Cheyenne Scottish Rite, the White Shrine and First Christian Church. He also enjoyed other interests such as rodeo, writing historical papers, wood working and operating a ham radio. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 49 ½ years, Georgia R. (Hayden) Andrews; his daughter, Arlene Andrews; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at a later date with the date and time to be announced.
