Born: May 13, 1922 Died: November 01, 2010 Services: At Kenneth’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. A private family service will be held at a later date. Visitation: Mr. Kenneth G. Byers, 88, of Hanna, Wyoming, passed away Monday, November 1, 2010, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Byers was born May 13, 1922, in Sabetha, Kansas, a son of the late Leonard Nelson and Alice Marie (Eisenbise) Byers. Kenneth served courageously in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving numerous tours in the European Theatre as a B17 crewman. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Wyoming where he met his future wife, Darlene J. Miller, at Cheyenne Frontier Days and married on November 7, 1948, and later re-married on July 31, 2008. With the help of the G.I. Bill, he attended technical school and became licensed as a journeyman electrician. He performed the electrical work for many newly constructed homes and also worked on several missile sites for F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Following his retirement in 1982, he enjoyed traveling and fishing. He will be remembered for his love for family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Darlene J. Byers of Hanna, WY; his son Dan J. Byers and wife, Penny, of Cheyenne; three brothers, Richard Byers of Cheyenne, Warren Rogers of Nebraska, and Gary Copeland of Kansas; two grandchildren, Adam Byers and wife, Angeleigh, of Cheyenne, and Amy Maul and husband, Von, of Cheyenne; six grandchildren, Austin, Darren, Stephen, Tasha, Derek and Zackary.
