Kenneth Smith, Sr.

Kenneth L. Smith, Sr., 82, of Cheyenne passed away at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, Wyoming. He was born June 23, 1936 in Wooster, MA to Herbert and Marian Smith. He married Eileen Suchanek on August 30, 1958 in Cheyenne. He was a veteran, having served in the US Air Force, and was employed by the Safeway Grocery Stores for 30 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and American Legion Post #6. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, golfing and being near the ocean. Having lived and growing up in Maine, he often was found lobster fishing. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Smith of Cheyenne; children, Janet (Ken) Sherman of Cheyenne and Kenneth (Kristi) Smith, Jr. of Kimball, NE; sisters, Marge Stebbins of Florida and Barbara Crowley of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sandra Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth's memory may be made to St. May's School or Holy Trinity Building Fund. A Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment of his urn to follow in Olivet Cemetery.
