Larry L. Armstrong, 72, of Cheyenne died February 28, 2011at Davis Hospice Center. Born September 15, 1938 in Cheyenne, he was the son of the late George M. and Dott Irene Armstrong (Davis). He graduate from Burns High School in 1956 and attended the University of Wyoming where he obtained his undergraduate and masters degrees. He married Bonnie G. Armstrong (Holden) on December 27, 1959, in Laramie. Mr. Armstrong spent two years at the Baptist Divinity School in Berkeley, California. He moved back to Cheyenne and worked at the Wyoming Tribune. In 1965 he moved to Torrington and was an art instructor at Eastern Wyoming College for several years. In themed-70's he owned and operated Flowers Unlimited Ltd. In September 1987 he was the Director of the Homesteaders Museum. He retired in November 2003 and spent the next few years snowbirding from Wyoming to Arizona. In 2007 he and his wife moved to Cheyenne where he became active in the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Bonnie G. Armstrong of Cheyenne; a son, Jeffery Y. Armstrong of Pine Bluffs (Brenda); a daughter, Angela Armstrong of Cedarburg, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Larissa Barrett, Logan Armstrong, Michael, David and Julie Curtis; and one great granddaughter, Addison Barrett; a sister, Donna J. Hodges of Lake Park, Minnesota (Wes) and their families; an aunt, Fayann Cain of Kimball, NE and her sons, David and Mike; and many caring friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
