Laurence Olson

November 12, 1928 — April 12, 2014

Laurence "Leapin' Larry" Hanley Olson, 85, of Cheyenne, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, April 12, 2014 at home, after a great day of celebration with his loving wife, Vivian, of 65 years of marriage, surrounded by family and friends. Larry was born in Hersey, Wisconsin on November 12, 1928, the son of Gayhart and Bessie Olson. He was one of nine children, preceded in death by six siblings and survived by two. Larry is also survived by his sweetheart Vivian and three children; Dianna Appelhof, Barbara Arnold and Kevin Olson. Also, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. As a young man he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. His greatest joys in life were serving Jehovah God and sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with others. His zeal for those activities continued right up to the time of his death. Larry has the Bible's promise of being resurrected on a paradise earth, where he will be able to enjoy Jehovah God's creations forever. His favored creations included wolves, flowers, rocks and being in the mountains. He was loved and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be given on Saturday, April 19 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the World Wide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
