Lawrence Anderson

Lawrence C. Anderson, 88, of Burns, Wyoming went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, February 25, 2018. Lawrence was born on July 2, 1929 on the homestead in Eastern Laramie County. He graduated from Albin High School and attended college at the University of Wyoming and John Brown University. There he met his wife to be, Joanne Thompson. For 65 plus years, Lawrence devoted his life to his family, his farm in the North Burns area and serving his community. He served in multiple roles including lobbyist for the Wyoming School Board Association, board member for Community Action, Laramie County School District #2 board member, Burns Co-op board member, and received the lifetime achievement award for his work with the Wyoming Republican Party. He served his church as a deacon and trustee. Lawrence is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Anderson. He is survived by his children, Mark Anderson and wife, Judy, Craig Anderson and wife, Gail, and Sharon Anderson; his grandchildren, Jolie Sawyer, Kelly Janes and husband, David, Brett Anderson and wife, Lori, Ryan Anderson and wife, Alli, Jeremy Anderson and wife, Rachel, Robert Anderson and Taya Anderson; nine great-grandchildren, Kevin, Danielle, and Joseph Sawyer, Hannah, Abby and Olivia Janes, Peyton and Braden Anderson, and Beckham Anderson; brother, Leonard Anderson; and sister, Elaine Kopecky. Lawrence was also preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Anna Anderson; brother, Warren Anderson; sister, Helen Peters. Lawrence will be remembered for his love for people, education, farming and his love for Jesus Christ. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. at Cheyenne Hills Church. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Samaritan's Purse, P.O Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
