Mr. Lawrence A. Bobbitt III, "Larry," 71, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bobbitt was born June 4, 1943, in Memphis, Tennessee, the eldest of five sons of the late Lawrence A. Bobbitt II and Ida Beatrice (Mills). Growing up in Memphis, he fostered a love for sports particularly football and baseball. He received his undergraduate degree for History from Memphis State University, following which he served as an officer in the Air Force from 1966-1971. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he attended the University of Wyoming, School of Law, earning a Juris Doctor degree, and later practicing as an attorney for the State of Wyoming for the next 41 years. He continued his love of history through reading and travel, and was also a member in several local groups; Noon Lions Club, American Legion, and First Christian Church, just to name a few. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Millspaugh) Bobbitt of Cheyenne; three children, Larisa Ruth Shaffer and husband, John, of Cheyenne, Christina Anne Dasis and husband, Lannie, of Cheyenne, and Lawrence A. Bobbitt IV,"Abe," of Laramie; and three grandchildren, Kevin Dasis, Baily and Hannah Shaffer. A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Jim Waterman of Springfield, IL, Pastor Richard Hull and Pastor Cindy White co-officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
