Lawrence Burd

After a long battle of cancer, Lawrence Lloyd Burd, has gone home to be with our Lord. He died October 26, 2011 at Davis Hospice Center. He was born December 8, 1928 in Kanorado, KS to Everett and Grace Burd. He graduated from High School in Goodland KS and was a retired restaurant manager. He loved watching Christian musical DVDs and researching ancestors for the many books of his family tree. When he could, he attended Happy Jack Country Church. He was a man of few words. He loved being with his family. He is survived by his children, Dwight (Jeanette)Burd of Cheyenne, Mark(Pam) Burd of Cheyenne, Lawrence (Barbara) Burd of Cheyenne, Yolanda (Eddie)Dunn of Palacias, TX, Valen (Joni) Burd of Phoenix, AZ and Melanie (Bryan)People of Pagosa Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, Allen (Cheryl) Burd, Derrick (Abby) Burd, Kendall (Charlene) Burd, Danette (Kris) Hagar all of Cheyenne, Jennifer Burd of Greeley, CO, Jeremiah Burd stationed at Norfolk, VA while serving in the US Navy, Desiree' (Justin) Able of Kingwood, TX, Timothy Dunn and Jenna Dunn of Palacios, TX, Katy Burd and Levi Burd of Phoenix, AZ and Angelique (Michael) Culver of England; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin (Eunice) Burd of Gentry AR, Keith (Deloris) Burd of Montrose, CO; sister, Rowena Keck of Calapatria, CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, Everett and Grace Burd and a brother, Dwaine (& Joyce Burd) Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Happy Jack Country Church with Guy Landers officiating. A private interment of his urn at Mountain View Memorial Park will take place prior to his memorial service.
